Washer shaking during spin: load problem or recurring fault?
What to notice when a washing machine vibrates, bangs or moves, and when to stop using it.

Look for a connection with the load.
Uneven or overloaded laundry can contribute to vibration. Note whether the problem occurs with bulky items, small loads or ordinary mixed loads. Follow your manual’s capacity and cycle guidance. If the machine allows a normal pause, wait until it has stopped and unlocked before redistributing laundry; never force the door or lid.
Mention recent installation changes.
Tell the technician if the washer was recently delivered, moved or stacked. Installation and levelling may need assessment. Leave moving, unstacking and installation corrections to a suitably equipped person; do not try to hold a moving washer in place.
Repeated banging deserves assessment.
Stop the cycle if the machine moves or bangs violently. A problem that returns across different appropriate loads needs more investigation than a guess about a suspension part. Record any code and describe whether draining and spinning also changed.
When booking, mention whether the washer is front-loading, top-loading or stacked, and whether the noise is new. Share an existing recording if available rather than running the machine again solely to capture it.
What the movement pattern can tell the assessment.
A problem limited to one unsuitable load is different from new movement with ordinary loads. Recent delivery, moving or stacking also matters. Load balance, installation and the washer’s support or suspension can require different checks. Describe when movement starts and whether drainage or spinning changed; a video or sound alone cannot confirm a particular worn part.
Your questions, answered.
Should I hold a shaking washer in place?
No. Stop the cycle using the normal controls if it moves or bangs violently, and wait for the machine to stop. Do not restrain it, force a locked door or run it again solely to record the movement.
Is an unbalanced load the only reason for vibration?
No. Loading is one possibility; installation and appliance faults may also need assessment. Mention whether the problem happens with different suitable loads or began after delivery, moving or stacking. Leave levelling and installation corrections to a suitably equipped person.
Which booking issue fits shaking or banging?
Choose the closest vibration or noise option shown for Washer, or Other / Not sure. Describe when the movement begins and whether water drains and the drum reaches spin. Include the installation and any exact error code.
