APPLIANCE SPECIALISTS · REPAIR GUIDES
Simple appliance care: start with your model’s manual.
A practical routine for accessible filters, loading and keeping useful appliance records.

Match the routine to the appliance.
Keep the owner’s manual with the model number and service records. Use its cleaning methods and intervals; filters, finishes and accessible parts vary. Routine care is not a substitute for assessing a recurring fault.
Keep the dryer lint screen clear.
Clean the lint screen before each load according to the manual and put it back correctly. If drying becomes unusually slow, the dryer overheats or you notice a burning smell, stop using it and arrange an assessment. Avoid removing panels or reaching into hidden ductwork as part of a quick household clean.
Follow dishwasher loading and filter instructions.
Leave dishes clear of the spray arms and detergent dispenser. If your model has a user-removable filter, clean and refit it using the manual’s instructions. Not every dishwasher has the same filter arrangement, so do not force out an unfamiliar component.
Keep a short record of changes.
Save service dates and note repeated leaks, noises, error messages or changes in washing, drying or cooling. A clear pattern is useful when arranging a visit. Leave heavy appliances installed and discuss inaccessible maintenance or repairs with a suitably equipped service professional.
Build a routine you can safely repeat.
Save the model manual and note which filters or surfaces the manufacturer identifies as user-accessible. Keep a simple record of cleaning and any recurring performance changes. If a care task requires moving a heavy appliance, disturbing a built-in installation or opening a cover, discuss access first. Extra cleaning is not a substitute for investigating an appliance that repeatedly stops, leaks or overheats.
Your questions, answered.
Does every appliance filter need the same cleaning schedule?
No. Filter designs and cleaning intervals vary. Use the instructions for your exact model and refit user-removable parts as directed. Do not force out a filter just because another appliance has a removable one.
Can routine cleaning solve every slow-drying or poor-washing problem?
No. Loading and accessible filter care can affect ordinary performance, but recurring changes may have other causes. Describe what remains wrong after the normal recommended care instead of repeatedly running a failing appliance.
Should I pull appliances out before a maintenance or repair request?
Leave them installed. Tell us about stacked laundry, built-in appliances and difficult access when booking. Any moving or removal needed for assessment is discussed as part of the visit arrangements.
